A new season is upon us, and it promises to be our Club’s biggest season yet, as both our men’s and women’s team work to retain their title of national champions.

UM Wolves RFC’s success has always been built around a key element: the hard work of the team of people behind the scenes – and we want that team to grow.

We are officially issuing a call for volunteers for the below roles for anyone who wants to get involved and help us make the magic happen.

These are the roles which we would like to fill.

Roles:

Assistant Treasurer

The role: The person in this role will be under the direction of our Treasurer and will be responsible for helping out with day-to-day bookkeeping within our accounting system and other minor accounting-related tasks.

We need: One person, preferably with an accounting background or who is studying commerce.

Website Administrator

The role: The person in this role will work with the Public Relations office and the President for the administration of the Club’s website.  This includes making sure everything is up to date, uploading and sharing match reports, and even coming up with different content ideas and upgrades for the website.

We need: One or two people willing to work together, preferably with a working knowledge of WordPress.

Match Analysts

The role:  We want a team of match analysts who will work together with the respective coaching staffs to analyse matches – both tactically and statistically – through our home-built data hub in order to identify areas of improvement both as a team and for individual players.

We need: Three to four people who will work on both men’s and women’s matches. If you’re into data and statistics, this might be your calling. Training in how we work will be provided, and you don’t need to be a rugby expert either.

Public Relations Sub-Committee

The role: One of three sub-committees that the Club will be launching pertains to its Public Relations office.  Under the leadership of the PRO, this sub-committee will work exclusively on the Club’s content output.

We need: A Graphic Designer, a Photographer, and a Videographer/Video Editor.  More than one of each works too.  If you’re just starting out and want to build up a portfolio or experiment and learn on the ‘job’, this is for you.

University Sub-Committee:

The role: Our second sub-committee will work with our University Coordinator to organise events and increase our outreach on the University of Malta Campus.

We need: Two to three University of Malta students who are willing to help out with organising events on campus, being present at outreach events, and just having ideas about how we can get our name out among students more.

Tour Sub-Committee:

The role: Our third sub-committee will work with our Projects Officer and will be solely dedicated to the organisation of trips abroad for both our Men’s and Women’s teams.

We need: Two people – one will be responsible for helping with the women’s team trips, and the other will be responsible for helping with the men’s team trips.  If you’re the holiday planner who has everything planned out to the minute on a spreadsheet before leaving to the airport, this is most definitely for you.

These roles are all voluntary and this means that we are completely flexible.  We know people have lives outside of the realms of volunteering work, and we will be appreciative of every minute of time and effort that anyone can give to the club.
