UM Wolves RFC has been awarded funding through the Voluntary Organisations Project Scheme (VOPS), which is managed by the Malta Council for the Voluntary Sector, for an exciting project revolving around youth rugby.

Rugby for Life: Building Youth through Sport and Community is a landmark youth rugby project which will be run by UM Wolves RFC in order to engage children aged 10-16 in a structured rugby programme, promoting an active lifestyle and social inclusion.

The project aims to build on the work that has already been done within the youth sector in the past 12 months by enhancing the club’s capacity and by organising several activities, including outreach sessions in multiple schools across Malta.

“The future of rugby in Malta is in its youths: this is a key part of our five year strategy which is set to be launched soon. Having the support of this funding through MCVS presents us with a phenomenal opportunity to continue building on what we have already started,” UM Wolves RFC President Albert Galea said after receiving the news.

The project will kick-off in March 2025 and will run until the end of February 2026.
