The new season brings with it some big news! UM Wolves RFC is expanding to new age groups!
As from next month, our club will be open to children aged between 12 and 15, as we continue to fulfil one milestone after another in our long-term development as a club.
The opening of this new age group is the natural next step for UM Wolves RFC after it opened up to youths aged 16 and 17 two seasons ago.
The age group will train every Wednesday between 18:30 and 20:00 at the centrally located St Martin’s College in Swatar, and it will be under the guidance of a dedicated coaching and administration staff.
Stefan De Marco and Yanica Camilleri will be coaching the new age group. Stefan is a familiar name, having been involved within UM Wolves RFC in various capacities over the course of the last six years, while Yanica was also the club’s first ever Women’s Team captain.
They will be joined by Karl Carabott and Anthea Borg, who will be the Academy Managers, handling the day-to-day running of sessions.
Club President Albert Galea said of the announcement: “This is an incredibly exciting moment for everyone at our club, and one which we have been planning and working on for months. It’s a natural next step for the growth of our club into one which is fully sustainable, and we hope to be welcoming the future of Maltese rugby into our ranks!”
Applications are now open, with the first session set to take place on Wednesday 2 October.
